Detox Challenge

Your task is to minimally avoid cellphones, social networking sites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter) and video games for a as long as possible. Pick any number of days before March 28 where you take the "digital detox challenge" and refrain from your use of everyday technology. You may use your cellphone as a telephone, if that is your only phone, or if you need it for a real emergency.

The idea is to pick a technology that you do/play with no attention or mindfulness to it. You mostly use it out of habit.

I strongly suggest you plan ahead and let friends, family, others know. BE STRONG.

After you have completed the assignment, post an essay or video log about your experiences as a comment on this page ("Detox Challenge") or on our Facebook Group.  It's an experiment, of which not all are completely successful, and, as you know, breaking habits is hard to do.

What did you do for your detox? Say something about how you normally spend your day, and how the detox interrupted that, or made it better? worse?  Your essays should be honest about how it felt, what pressures you felt, if you gave in, if friends taunted you, you enjoyed it, etc.
